MINERVA MARCHES ON TO THE QUARTER FINALS OF GOTHIA CUP – 14 GOALS, 0 CONCEDED, IN THE KNOCKOUTS SO FAR

The Minerva juggernaut is officially unstoppable at Gothia Cup 2024! Two knockout games. Two emphatic shutouts. Fourteen goals scored. Zero conceded. The Warriors from India have announced their arrival on Swedish soil like a storm that just refuses to slow down.

Coming into the knockouts riding high on an unbeaten group stage run, Minerva Academy FC’s young guns proved they are here not just to participate, but to conquer. In the Round of 32, they clashed with their Swedish counterparts in what turned into an unforgettable 9-0 demolition job. From the very first whistle, Minerva meant business.

Relentless pressing, dazzling attacking combinations, and ice-cold finishing left their opponents stunned. The first half alone saw a flurry of goals that put the game out of reach while the second half was just a burial; Ruthless, Unapologetic and Unstoppable.

The goal scorers on the day was a full attacking showcase: K. Chetan opened scoring while Kamal added another. Gunando’s brace and a goal each from Thokchom, Reoson, Denamoni, Azam and Amaron – marched the team to goal parade led by a unit playing with chemistry and courage. The ball did the talking, and Minerva’s story was echoing across Gothenburg.

But the Warriors weren’t done yet. In the Round of 16, Minerva faced another tough Swedish test – and once again, they delivered with class. A 5-0 masterclass that felt less like a contest and more like a statement of intent. From kickoff to the final whistle, it was total dominance. Clean passing, smart pressing, and wave after wave of fluid attacking football.

Goals came from all across the pitch as Yohenba, Rhytham, Kamal, Chingkhei, and Amarson – each adding their name to the scoresheet, and more importantly, to this team’s rising legend. The defensive wall held strong yet again, marking another clean sheet for a side that hasn’t conceded a single goal in the knock outs of the tournament so far.

With 14 goals in two matches, zero goals conceded, and a 32-goal tally in the group stages as well, Minerva is flying the Indian flag high and proud. The quarterfinals await, and the roar of the Warriors is only growing louder.

This is not just a team. This is a storm. This is Minerva and the boys have one mission in mind, which is to make India Proud.
