Minerva Academy Football Club, India’s most successful youth football institution, proudly announces the return of Harpreet Bedi as its new Director of Football. A true Minervan, I-League champion, and one of India’s most promising football minds, Harpreet’s homecoming marks a defining moment in the club’s mission to elevate Indian football development to new heights.
Harpreet Bedi’s journey is deeply intertwined with Minerva’s rise to prominence. A former player and later a championship-winning coach, he made history by becoming the first individual ever to win the I-League both as a player and as a coach — a feat unmatched in Indian football. His deep understanding of youth development, tactical expertise, and leadership qualities have made him one of the most respected figures in Indian football coaching.
During his earlier tenure with Minerva, Harpreet guided the academy’s youth teams to numerous national titles, shaping several players who went on to represent India at the U17, U20, and senior levels. Known for his philosophy of discipline, tactical clarity, and all-round player growth, he was instrumental in building Minerva’s reputation as a powerhouse of grassroots football.
Speaking about his return, Harpreet Bedi said:
“Minerva is not just a club — it’s home. It’s where my journey began, and where I learned what football truly means. I’m honoured to return as Director of Football and contribute once again to developing young Indian talent capable of competing globally. Together, we’ll continue to make India proud.”
As Director of Football, Harpreet Bedi will lead the club’s technical and youth development structure, mentor coaching staff, and design new programs focused on elite training, scouting, and holistic player development. His vision will play a crucial role in sustaining Minerva’s unmatched record of producing India’s top youth footballers — including national team regulars like Anwar Ali, Jeakson Singh, and Himanshu Jangra.
Minerva Academy FC’s Founder and Chairman, Ranjit Bajaj, expressed his excitement about Harpreet’s return:
“Harpreet has been part of Minerva’s DNA since the beginning. From winning the I-League on the field to mentoring our future champions, he embodies everything Minerva stands for — discipline, excellence, and Indian pride. His return marks a new era of growth and success for us.”
With Harpreet Bedi’s appointment, Minerva Academy FC reaffirms its position as the #1 youth football academy in India, committed to nurturing world-class players through its world-renowned “Made in India, Respected by the World” philosophy.
