Minerva Academy FC Continue Perfect Start with Emphatic 7–1 Victory Over Namdhari FC in AIFF Junior League

Minerva Academy Football Club continued their impressive start to the AIFF Junior League 2025–26, registering a dominant 7–1 victory over Namdhari FC to secure their second consecutive win of the campaign. The emphatic result underlined Minerva’s attacking depth, tactical clarity, and relentless approach, as they maintained their perfect record in the tournament.

From the opening whistle, Minerva Academy FC set the tone with high-intensity pressing and quick ball circulation, immediately putting the hosts’ defensive line under sustained pressure. Their proactive approach paid dividends early in the match when Mahtab Singh broke the deadlock with a composed finish, capitalising on a well-worked attacking move. The goal further lifted Minerva’s confidence, and they continued to dominate possession and territory.

Mahtab Singh soon doubled his tally, once again finding space inside the box and finishing clinically to extend Minerva’s lead. The visitors showed no signs of easing off, maintaining their attacking rhythm and forcing Namdhari FC into repeated defensive errors. Just before halftime, Laishram Mahesh added a third goal, capping a commanding first-half display and sending Minerva into the break with a well-deserved 3–0 advantage.

The second half saw Minerva Academy FC introduce a series of prominent substitutions, a move that not only preserved intensity but also highlighted the squad’s depth and quality. The changes had an immediate impact, as Laishram Mahesh struck again early in the second period to make it 4–0, reinforcing Minerva’s dominance.

Namdhari FC managed to pull one goal back shortly thereafter, but Minerva responded with composure and discipline, quickly reasserting control over the contest. The Warriors continued to play with structure and intent, building attacks patiently and exploiting spaces in the final third.

Substitute Haokip made a significant contribution off the bench, scoring a well-taken brace. Both goals came from neatly constructed team moves, with Haokip showing excellent positional awareness and composure to finish at the second post on each occasion. His impact further stretched Minerva’s advantage and reflected the effectiveness of the team’s rotation strategy.

In stoppage time, Ramung put the finishing touches on an outstanding performance, scoring in the 91st minute to complete a comprehensive 7–1 victory and underline Minerva Academy FC’s superiority on the day.

With this result, Minerva Academy FC have now scored an astonishing 23 goals in just two matches, conceding only one, marking one of the strongest starts to the Junior League campaign. The performances so far have showcased Minerva’s attacking philosophy, defensive organisation, and collective discipline—hallmarks of the club’s youth development model.

Minerva Academy FC will next be in action on 12th February, when they travel to Ludhiana to face YFC Khad in an away fixture. The Warriors will be eager to maintain their momentum and continue their positive start as the AIFF Junior League progresses.
