History being Made by Minerva as their performance in Europe puts the Indian coaches to next pedestal

When Minerva Academy’s young gladiators stormed the footballing citadels of Europe this summer, they did more than win trophies — they redefined how Indian football is perceived on the world stage. With dazzling victories at the World Youth Cup(Sweden), Dana Cup (Denmark) and the Norway Cup (Oslo) — the world’s largest youth football tournaments — Minerva’s boys carved their names into history. The elite squad’s artistry, grit, and discipline did not just earn silverware; it sent ripples across continents.

So magnetic was their football that it has now drawn admiration from Southeast Asia. The Philippines’ Makati Football Club (MFC), led by the visionary Mr. Jose Luis “Selu” Lozano, has formally expressed interest in bringing Mr. Surinder Singh Minerva’s revered head coach, and Mr. Pradhyum Reddy to guide the Philippines U-17 Women’s National Team.

Mr. Ranjit Bajaj especially recommend Pradhyum Reddy’s name along with Minerva Academy’s Technical Director, Mr. Surinder Singh as both of them are Pro-Licensed coaches and Pradhyum also plays the same brand of football that Minerva plays and belives in the same philosophy of Youth development as Minerva which is why he will be a perfect fit for the purpose with Surinder sir.

As a Global Recognition for Minerva’s Blueprint Mr. Lozano, who also serves as President of Makati Football Club & MFC Foundation, as well as Manager of the Philippines Women’s U-17 side, shared his admiration openly: “I’ve been following Minerva Academy’s elite boys’ team on their international tours these past two years and was impressed by their seriousness and discipline. I had the pleasure of meeting their owner, Ranjit Bajaj, at the last Gothia Cup, and we immediately connected on our shared values — especially his passion for giving underprivileged kids opportunities to change their lives through football. That’s why I’m excited to bring in Minerva’s head coach to support me in leading the Philippines U-17 Women’s National Team, as I see tremendous value in the way they run their academy and develop coaches.”

Such praise from a global football leader underlines the pedestrian shift Minerva has created — lifting Indian coaching and youth football development onto an international pedestal.

He also added, “On the reccomendation of Ranjeer, I have rooted on these two gentlemen for the coaching of our U-17 Philippines National Team”, for crucial matches including the AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers, contesting against top teams.

This is a historic moment in Indian Football as the first time an Indian National is being appointed as the head coach in a foreign National Team.

This will now open a gateway for Indian coaches and Minerva through their good performances in Europe have shown the World what Indians are capable of.

Minerva’s conquests have become folklore in the making from being the Champions of Dana Cup 2025 (Denmark) by conquering elite European opposition, winning the Norway Cup 2025 (Oslo) dominating the biggest youth tournament in the world and being the crowned Champions of The World Youth Cup aka Gothia Cup (Sweden) twice with the academy’s performances earning international admiration.

These triumphs are not mere wins; they symbolize an Indian academy standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s finest football nurseries.

At the heart of this movement is Mr. Ranjit Bajaj, the maverick owner of Minerva Academy, who has relentlessly championed the cause of football for underprivileged kids and the deserving ones. By investing not just in infrastructure but in philosophy — discipline, courage, and opportunity — Mr. Bajaj has ensured Minerva’s rise is not a stroke of luck, but a sustainable revolution.

Now, with the Philippines looking to adopt Minerva’s coaching DNA, Surinder Singh and Pradhyum Reddy’s methods — forged on Indian soil, tested in European battlefields, and proven with silverware — will guide a new generation of international footballers. This is more than an appointment; it is a validation of India’s football education system, spearheaded by Minerva.

The move sends a resounding message: India is no longer an outsider in world football development.

From India to Lillestrøm to Copenhagen — the Minerva style of football has arrived, and it is here to inspire generations.
